Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without our joyous Christmas sing-a-long with Danny Spooner, Duncan Brown, Jeanette Gillespie and friends.

It was also our Graham Squance award presentation night and the evening then moved into a hearty romp with Susan McCarta, Judy Turner, Neil Adam and fiddle players from the Melbourne Scottish Fiddle Club plus the 'Senile Delinquants' a lively four piece hillbilly/bluegrass band from the Kinglake area

Kenny White's November launch of his "Yonder Comes the Blues" was a tremendous success with a full house and a wonderful night filled with some nostalgia and Kenny's manifestly enduring passion for music worn firmly on his sleeve. Kenny was supported by guitarist Brent Koelewyn, and was joined at various times during the rest of the evening by Jeff Pylka (guitars), Joe Lua (bass), Rowena White (bass), Ian Cummings (sax), Dennis Walsh (harmonica), Fiona White, Marni Sheehan, and Ray Rivermonte (backing vocals).

Danny Spooner had us all singing along on Friday October 6th with the help of Duncan Brown and the other members of the singing ensemble formerly known as Canterbury Fair. A historial reinactment of much musical joy and rousing harmonies.

Conundrum followed with some exquisitely precise playing and a wonderful array of reels and tunes.

Leticia Maher treated us to a fabulous hour of exquisite singing and intricate guitar playing to kick off our September concert night. For more information, you can visit her website www.leticia.com.au

Together with original material, Umanee has made the effort to reintroduce forgotten musical traditions and instruments like hurdy-gurdy, Uyghur Khushtar, Karadeniz Kemence, Turkish Baglama – and blend them with classical ones (clarinet, flute, cello) to give their music new, contemporary level. This they did with skill and panache to the joy of the September audience.

Milk comprising Helen Begley, Emily Hayes, Greg Craske and Teal Bain-Roben lived up to their reputation on August 1. Helen Begley's warm and powerful vocals and her skills as songwriter and instrumentalist make her the mainstay of this excellent ensemble. Emily Hayes' vocals blended beautifully with Helen's and the harmonies achieved, particularly when Greg Craske added to the mix, were superb. Add Teal Bain-Robin's sympathetic drumming and you have two fantastic sets of vibrant, dynamic entertainment.

Eddie Cole treated us to a wonderful set of music on August 1. His intricate guitar playing is executed with such fluidity he makes it look so easy. Coupled with his vocal agility, his songs are a joy to listen to. Some great original songs and some excellent treatments of the work of other writers and a lovely chap to boot!

The MP3s are Martin Pearson (Pictured middle: Vocals, guitar, whistle, mayhem) and the MP3s with Alex Legg (Right: Guitar, vocals, paroxysmal thumb) and Chris Pain (Left: Harmonica, vocals, guitar, electric tendencies).

Thanks to Martin, Alex and Chris for a fantastic evening's entertainment for our first concert in our official new home on July 7th, 2006. Individually and collectively they had us enthralled throughout the evening.

Fiona White performed with husband Kenny and Inge De Koster on Friday May 26th, 2006 in our new venue the Emerald Room at the Clifton Hill Hotel.

They were supported by the versatile Marni Sheehan and her two sons.

Mundi - Turner are old friends of Folk Victoria, performing whenever they return to Australian shores.

This year we enjoyed them at the Folk Victoria concert for the Brunswick Music Festival event at the Mechanics Institute in Sydney Road, Brunswick on March 31, 2006.
